Meet the Team

We're lucky to have a wonderful team of teachers who are passionate about dance...

Miss Lindsay

Lindsay has 20 years of teaching experience and holds a Licentiate with the Allied Dancing Association's (ADA) Theatre Stage branch, an Associate with the International Dance Teacher's Associaton (IDTA) in Modern Jazz, as well as qualifications in BalletBeFit. Certifications are also held in first aid and NSPCC Performance Safeguarding.

Lindsay is Enhanced DBS and holds a full chaperone licence.

Zoe has more than 15 years of teaching experience and is an Associate of the Allied Dancing Association's (ADA) Theatre Stage Branch. Miss Ellie

Ellie entered the world of dance at a relatively late age, having never danced before when joining Oris at the age of 10. She showed great potential and some years on has smashed her higher modern grades and Associate exam to recently become a qualified teacher with the ADA. Miss Ellie's further certified in paediatric first aid and holds enhanced DBS clearance. She's also recently completed a course in Children's Mental Health.

Miss Rachel

Rachel has been taught by Miss Lindsay from an early age and has been with Oris Dance from the very beginning. A qualified teacher with the ADA, Rachel loves working on a one-to-one basis with our youngest dancers and those who need a little extra attention or encouragement. She has an enhanced DBS and qualifications in first aid and NSPCC Child Protection in Performance. She's also completed a Children's Mental Health course.

Angela has been involved with Oris Dance since the beginning, her son having joined us at age 3...he's now at college!

Angela has danced since childhood, completing grade exams in modern, tap and ballet. She more recently completed a ballet fitness teaching qualification.

We're now pleased to welcome her as an official member of the team - you'll see her regularly assisting in all of our classes. Angela's got an enhanced DBS and is paediatric first aid qualified.

Laura is our Parent and Baby class lead. She's worked with Oris for many years as a fully licenced chaperone backstage at shows and rehearsals. Laura loves working with our youngest children and offering one-to-one support where needed.

With DBS clearance, Laura is further paediatric first aid trained. She's caring and creative, making her the perfect person to welcome our very youngest dancers from birth to 18months (along with their parent/carer) to Oris Dance each week.

New September term

We had great fun at our summer Days of Dance over the holidays. To ensure we're still distancing, we ran more sessions this year, with fewer numbers in each. But the atmosphere was still fantastic with lots of enthusiasm and energy from all our attendees. Thanks to everyone who came along and made such great fun memories!

Congratulations Advanced Dancers

Congratulations to our Advanced class (plus Mollie who's not pictured above) for some fantastic exam results. Not one, but two distinctions for these superstars in their most recent exam session. Plus, some amazing comments from the examiner..."Tap at its best" and "A showstopping performance!." Just brilliant, ladies. Keep up the great work!

Excellent exam results 2019/2020

We are absolutely delighted with not only a 100% pass rate for our most recent set of practical dance exams, but some outstanding results. Well done to everyone - we're proud of you all!

Now accepting new starters for January

West End Workshop

Another amazing day with professional west end dancer, Andrew, took place on Saturday 5th October. Andrew led two brilliant musical theatre workshops for some of our Ruskin dancers, filling the room with energy, fun and laughter. We learnt a lot and look forward to welcoming Andrew back soon.

Summer holidays Days of Dance - join us!

Have you signed up for one of our summer holiday Days of Dance? If 6 weeks seems just too long off dancing, we've some great activities planned at our Ruskin Drive Leisure Village studio - get in touch to find out more.

It was lights, camera, action at our annual end-of-year show

What a fantastic afternoon we had at the Theatre Royal for our annual performance on 14th July. Our movie themed show was a great success - every single one of our dancers did us proud. We were sooo impressed with you all! A massive well done to everyone who took part and thanks to everyone who came to watch.

West end star visits our studio

Our Easter workshop with Andrew Chadwick was a full day of learning, lifting and most importantly, laughing. Our dancers had a wonderful time learning some original west-end musical theatre choreography and mastering partner lifts and balances. Here are some photos of the day:

Great fun at our Feb Day of Dance

Thank you to guest teachers, Victoria and Sheila, who ran two great fun workshops. We learnt a lot from you both!

Congratulations, Laura

A distinction grade is rare, but our dancer and class assistant, Laura, smashed her exams this year by receiving, not one, but three!!

Huge congratulations on this outstanding achievement, with love from all your fellow dancers and teachers at Oris Dance. x

Outstanding exam results 2019

We were thrilled to receive some outstanding gradings and remarks from our recent exam session, including a high number of honours and distinctions. What an achievement!!

A huge well done to all of our dancers who have (yet again!) done us proud!

100% pass rate in Dec 2018 exams

Following our recent exam session with the ADA, we are thrilled to have once again achieved a 100% pass rate. Congratulations and well done to all of our dancers - we are so proud of you all!

End of year theatre trip

We had a great afternoon out at the Lowry watching Dr Doolittle and celebrating the end of another fantastic year at Oris Dance. Thanks to everyone that came along, including parents who came to help.

Tapathon 2018

Well done to 60 of our dancers who took part in this year's Children in Need Tapathon on Sunday 18th November. The atmosphere was electric with all those shoes tapping together!

No Guinness World Record this time (for the largest tap dance across multiple venues), but over £37k raised for Children in Need and a great day had by all! Thank you and well done to everyone involved.

We welcomed ex Pussycat Doll and TV dance judge, Kimberly Wyatt, for an exciting end-of-term dance workshop!

We were so excited to have Kimberly Wyatt join us on the afternoon of 21st July. Kimberly ran two workshops for two different age groups working on technique, confidence and a fantastic commercial routine with us. There was also time for lots of photos and autograph signing! A fantastic day - thank you Kim! x

Teddy Bear's Picnic..."If you go down to Oris Dance today..."

We had a lovely end to the school year with our yongest dancers at our Teddy Bear's Picnic on 21st July. Teddies, cake and of course lots of dancing! Thanks to everyone who came.

St Julie's Gala

Thanks to St Julie's who invited us to perform at their summer gala on 15th July. Well done dancers - you did us proud!
