The highlight each year at Oris Dance is our annual show. Normally held at the St. Helens Theatre Royal we encourage each and every one of our dancers to take part. It's always such an exciting day for our dancers and a great celebration of our achievements throughout the year. And it's a treat for parents and families who get to see their very own superstars shine on stage.
All of our dancers are offered the chance to take modern stage, ballet or tap exams with the Allied Dancing Association and/or IDTA. There are a number of additional awards that dancers can be put forward for, for example, drama and singing.
Since opening our doors more than 10 years ago now, we have always achieved 100% pass rate in exams. Our most recent exam results were our best to date with some outstanding results and comments from the examiner.
Our advanced class has performed at a number of charity events, helping to support local initiatives within our community. If you would like us to consider performing at your event, get in touch.
We also take part in UK-wide events, such as dance-athons to support fantastic causes such as Children in Need.
Our Easter workshop with Andrew Chadwick was a full day of learning, lifting and most importantly, laughing. Our dancers had a wonderful time learning some original west-end musical theatre choreography and mastering partner lifts and balances. Here are some photos of the day:
Thank you to guest teachers, Victoria and Sheila, who ran two great fun workshops. We learnt a lot from you both!
A distinction grade is rare, but our dancer and class assistant, Laura, smashed her exams this year by receiving, not one, but three!!
Huge congratulations on this outstanding achievement, with love from all your fellow dancers and teachers at Oris Dance. x
We were thrilled to receive some outstanding gradings and remarks from our recent exam session, including a high number of honours and distinctions. What an achievement!!
A huge well done to all of our dancers who have (yet again!) done us proud!
We're thrilled to be back at classes after our Christmas break. We're starting brand new work in preparation for our summer show. It's perfect time for any newcomers to join us! Get in touch.
Following our recent exam session with the ADA, we are thrilled to have once again achieved a 100% pass rate. Congratulations and well done to all of our dancers - we are so proud of you all!
We had a great afternoon out at the Lowry watching Dr Doolittle and celebrating the end of another fantastic year at Oris Dance. Thanks to everyone that came along, including parents who came to help.
Well done to 60 of our dancers who took part in this year's Children in Need Tapathon on Sunday 18th November. The atmosphere was electric with all those shoes tapping together!
No Guinness World Record this time (for the largest tap dance across multiple venues), but over £37k raised for Children in Need and a great day had by all! Thank you and well done to everyone involved.
We were so excited to have Kimberly Wyatt join us on the afternoon of 21st July. Kimberly ran two workshops for two different age groups working on technique, confidence and a fantastic commercial routine with us. There was also time for lots of photos and autograph signing! A fantastic day - thank you Kim! x
We had a lovely end to the school year with our yongest dancers at our Teddy Bear's Picnic on 21st July. Teddies, cake and of course lots of dancing! Thanks to everyone who came.
Thanks to St Julie's who invited us to perform at their summer gala on 15th July. Well done dancers - you did us proud!
What a brilliant afternoon we had at the St Helens Theatre Royal for our annual showcase. On 10th June we performed almost 30 numbers for our dancers' families - from age 2 all the way through to our '21-at-heart' 70-somethings! Thank you to everyone who took part and especially to all those people who attended and helped us to reach a record number of ticket sales!
Wow! Well done dancers! We have had an amazing set of exam results. 100% pass rate with 20+ Honours. Just fantastic!!
